We are installing alternative shorter gear ratios in the gearbox to meet the owner's requirements. While aftermarket companies produce gears, internal parts from Porsche are not available. Our task is to rebuild the gearbox with these revised ratios. There is a unique nut on the input shaft, so we crafted a socket specifically for it. Additionally, there is a critical area on the input shaft where the bearing runs, which must not be damaged. To prevent this, we inserted a brass bushing in our custom socket to serve as a locator. Adding to the complexity, it features a left-hand thread. Since the 718 GTS 4.0 Cayman is a current model and no existing tooling is suitable for this job, we have developed the necessary tooling to perform the task to PR Technology's exacting standards.

Furthermore, the transmission detent mechanisms for the gear change must be removed and refitted into the casing. For this procedure, we have also created specific tools. This 982-generation Porsche 718 GTS 4.0 Cayman will now accelerate even more swiftly!
